Also for live systems like Grml this would allow us to ensure that
the files are as up2date as our release itself. (We have the
invocation of the update-smart-drivedb command within our ISO build
toolchain, but "now" that this script no longer exists in Debian
it's no longer as up2date as it used to be. :-/)

I'd appreciate this, if providing it within $PATH isn't considered
an option within Debian.

BTW, the smartmontools package still ships
/usr/share/man/man8/update-smart-drivedb.8.gz, which is even more
confusing for users. :)
