These are kernel logs and get logged to /var/log/dmesg, and kern.log, and also get included in syslog. /var/log/boot doesn't log everything that appears on the screen; and kernel logs may or may not be displayed depending on their severity and on system settings, which is also a reason to keep them separate. -- Pierre Ynard
