just note that I ran (actually one of our users ran) into the same 
scenario. but there is always one solution : webdav access is never 
broken.

so allways remember that if you barel live under :

http://path/to/barrel/ and that you broke YourPage/foo.tpl

then you can edit it with :

webdav://path/to/barrel/webdav/YourPage/foo.tpl

it's not that well documented in diogenes doc (and that's maybe the 
wrong point here) but it saves lives ;)

(and it's really convenient for quick page editing btw)
