Hello Jörg,
Thank you for your message.
I downloaded and installed the latest driver version 2.30.4 which was not
available when I installed my Debian 10 Buster system.
Unfortunately the problem is the same with this new driver, the scanner puts
between 50 seconds to a minute to initialize.
I have been using Linux Mint 1x.x (Ubuntu) for 15 years and on my laptop &
workstation. I used only Linux Mint LMDE 2 and Linux Mint LMDE 3 (Debian) from
4 years on my workstation.
I have never encountered such a problem before.
I'm not the only one having difficulty ... According to the articles I read the
dependence LSB-CORE would be missing under Debian 10 which would pose many
problems to users...
This does not seem to be a problem related to Epson drivers, but a change of
dependencies within Debian 10 Buster that does not allow a perfect hardware
backward compatibility with this hardware. I presume there is a bug in the new
dependency used by Buster.
I hope that you can reopen this ticket and correct this bug...
Regards.
Philippe
