I am not involved in packaging wine in debian, but
may have some hints.
Unfortunately I could not find any download for a trial version,
is there one known? Otherwise this can just be debugged
by users having access to that software.
Then a file containing some more output could be of some help.
E.g. start from a terminal the application similar to this:
cd "/home/user/.wine/drive_c/path/to/application"
script -c "WINEDEBUG=+pid,+tid,+timestamp,+font wine 'application.exe'" -a
"-a ~/wine_$(date +%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S).log"
Such a file should contain all API calls to windows font functions,
maybe that would already show something.
As you tested already WineHQ packages too, and these showed the
same error you might also go ahead an open an upstream bug there.
(If you do so please send here the bug number too.)
