Package: ftp.debian.org
Followup-For: Bug #953942

Wow. Gone in 4 days.
While I can understand that ftpmasters are triggerhappy due to the py2
removal, that seems excessive.

As for the "no upstream activity", that tends to happen when software is
feature-complete.

And when claiming "better alternatives exist", I'd expect a list of
names to follow. Not just to substantiate the claim, but also as a
courtesy to the (soon to be ex-) users of jack.

FWIW, and without having tested anything, these packages seem to fill
roughly the same purpose:
    yaret
    ripit
    pacpl
    abcde (bug page looks unhappy)
    crip (maintained by QA)

I obviously have no idea whether they work as well as jack. Or whether
they'll be gone from Debian 5 days from now, for that matter.

cheers,
    Jan
