wxMaxima until about 2 months ago for showing thechelp system used wxHtmlHelpCtrl from wxWidgets. And that control used wxWebView. So you might be right about what control triggered the warning. The current wxMaxima master has a performance issue. Once that is resolved I will try to upload a new release to Debian-testing.
