Package: dash Version: 0.5.11+git20200708+dd9ef66-2 Severity: important Hi,
Reporting this on behalf of the upstream strace developers. They've noticed this bug, and I can confirm. It looks like the new version of dash is giving incorrect output when called with -x. Older version in buster: $ dash -x -c 'true ///; true "///"' + true /// + true /// (and bash does the same) Using version 0.5.11+git20200708+dd9ef66-2 (in a sid chroot here): (sid)steve@tack:~$ dash -x -c 'true ///; true "///"' + true /// + true // -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.7 APT prefers stable-debug APT policy: (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-12-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages dash depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.71 ii debianutils 4.8.6.1 ii dpkg 1.19.7 ii libc6 2.28-10 dash recommends no packages. dash suggests no packages. -- debconf information excluded
