This package has indeed been broken for a long time already. Upstream is inactive since 2015 and I'm not willing to do all the fixes it would need. Therefore I requested its removal from Debian archive.
Other tools present in Debian can perform the same task. For instance soundstretch (command line) and audacity (gui).
