How about using this simple line instead? LINUX_ROOT_DEVICE="ZFS=$(findmnt --direction backward --first-only --noheadings -o SOURCE /)" "--direction backward" should find the "active mount" first (in case there are multiple mounts on "/"). cheers, Stefan
