Thanks. There continues to be a slow drip of end-user bug reports generated by this issue. I have an alternative approach that I would be grateful for your thoughts and opinion on: all packages (systemd included) use the systemd-standalone-tmpfiles implementation and that is the dependency that debhelper generates if a tmpfiles snippet is present.
