I have never used lxc, but this looks like erroring out:

The machine in question HAS lvm, but no lxc VG.

Where would I configure basic things like the mirror to download from or
the VG to be used? Sorry for having to show my ignorance, just using
debspawn has always been easier for me (but it of course costs time, so
I am interested in learning about other autopkg backends). Maybe I have
missed the autopkgtests docs, what I have found is less than helpful.
