Hello,

as Javier wrote it thirteen years ago, The cron package is maintained
through a version control system. This information needs an update:
today, you can read information about this package at
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/cron and interact with the VCS repository
at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/cron.git

Unfortunately, a patch wich was useful in year 2009 cannot be applied
safely on our current version of cron's source, as we are using a more
and more heavily patched derivative of Vixie's cron (version 3).

Any help to improve cron is appreciated. However I shall close this bug
report today, in order to increase the signal/noise rate of the bugs
list targetting cron.

So, feel free to reopen it if you believe that it deserves attention.

Best regards, Georges.
