That paragraph says what I would have liked to know, yes. But I never went looking for it in the docs. If one thinks of sbuild as handling all of the Build-Depends for you, then those failures just look like weird bugs, and I wouldn't expect the manpage to say anything about it. Maybe it's all fine. I don't know.
