Package: emacs-bin-common Version: 1:28.2+1-15 Followup-For: Bug #1041767 Dear Maintainer,
the rapid piling up of files in .emacs.d/eln-cache/ is a serious problem for those whose everyday workflow is based on Emacs, especially on slow machines and in environments with synchronisation processes. Would it at least be possible to provide an alternative package without `--with-native-compilation`? An editor is not limited to programming tasks, I'm generating all kind of documents with Emacs. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-10-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND Locale: LANG=en_ZA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_ZA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_ZA:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages emacs-bin-common depends on: ii emacs-common 1:28.2+1-15 ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u1 Versions of packages emacs-bin-common recommends: ii mailutils 1:3.15-4 emacs-bin-common suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
