Given that there are several components involved: Can you confirm that
just booting an older kernel but not changing any other components fixes
the issue for you?

If yes: Can you please bisect the newest kernel that still behaves good
and the oldest that is broken in that regard? Doing that for packaged
kernels from snapshot.debian.org is a good first step, but ideally
bisecting the upstream kernel would be great.

If you need more detailed instructions for that, please tell me.
