I think Lionel was referring to changing “noveles” to “novatos.”


The word “novicio” sounds more like someone who has just joined a religious 
order or congregation and has not yet taken their solemn vows.


I think it would be better to simply use “principiantes.” It is not a loanword 
and is more common in everyday speech.
