Let me recap:
You are looking for a way to inject config snippets into LightDM without
modifying the /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf that is shipped in the Debian
package of lightdm.
Then I proposed dropping your custom file into /etc/lightdm/
lightdm.conf.d/ on your local system. You agreed that that is a good
solution.
Then I closed the bug, because the means you need (drop-in files for
config tweaking) is already present in lightdm's package, so not a bug
anymore from package maintainers' points of view.
Problem solved, I thought.
Is your problem not solved?
My problem would be fixed when there was a /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/
, but so far I know there is nothing like that.
Maybe I don't know about a recent change? I've looked into my system
(Debian stable), here:
https://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs//main/l/lightdm/lightdm_1.32.0-7_changelog
and here: https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-extras-team/lightdm .
