Hello, I did some bug tracking and found the problem (but no solution yet):
In xlock/logout.c in the function 'logoutUser' a few different methods are tried to kill the programs in the user's X session. However the last resort is to kill all user processes. Two other methods that can be turned on (but are _not_ in the sarge version) are options --closedown-logout and --session-logout (from configure). I tested these, but with no effect. A workaround might be to give a logout command manually to xlock, which does logout the user from the X session correctly.
