Package: udev
Version: 0.093-1
Severity: normal

While booting, I get these messages:

-------snip-------
INIT: version 2.86 booting
Starting the hotplugs events dispatcher: udevdudevd[...]: \
parse_file: line too long, rule skipped \
'/etc/udev/rules.d/025_libsane.rules:540'
-------snip-------
(The above typed in from memory; it's a single line; "..." is a number.)

I seem to remember that the "line too long" line appeared twice on each
boot, but I'm not sure anymore. Today (2006-09-08), this message appears
only once per boot.

The error message appears in /var/log/daemon.log* on

  2006-08-12

My computer runs daily, an "aptitude update && aptitude upgrade" is
executed every 2 or 3 days.

Line 540 /etc/udev/libsane.rules looks like this:

$ head -n 540 libsane.rules | tail -n 1

Which is, according to "wc -c", 559 characters long, including the trailing
newline.
