Package: dvd+rw-tools Version: 6.1-3 Severity: wishlist I would like a way to determine the media ID of a disk in the drive. The dvd+rw-mediainfo tool is very nice, but it doesn't list the media ID. I have read that the information it does list is read from the disk in the same area as the media ID is contained, so maybe it is just not displaying that info?
The reason I would like to be able to do this is that the quality of media varies a lot and it's good to be able to determine what type of media a particular brand is using. There is a really good media guide at, http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm I would like to be able to look up media id's in the tables on that page.
