Just either purge desktop-base
certainly not ! it contains other things
or remove the 10_desktop-base configuraiton file.

I noticed a kdm configuration file in /var/run/kdm/ which enables theme, I deleted it and retried, there is no more theme but not all of my options are taken into account.
