Package: smartmontools
Version: 5.37-1
Severity: normal

For some reason (curiosity) I disabled the the "SMART Automatic Offline
Testing" for my harddrive with:
smartctl -d ata -o off /dev/sda
which worked fine. Now smartctl tells me that it is disabled (before it was
enabled).
But now smartctl is unable to reenable it.
"smartctl -d ata -o on /dev/sda" only display following message:
=== START OF ENABLE/DISABLE COMMANDS SECTION ===
Error SMART Enable Automatic Offline failed: Input/output error
Smartctl: SMART Enable Automatic Offline Failed.

There is no output on dmesg.

I'm using a Hitachi HTS541080G9AT00 from the Travelstar 5K100 series in a
Thinkpad T43 Laptop connected over sata.
