I want to avoid going back in time during installation of ntp. Take an installation on which the clock is ahead (migrating a virtual session for example) and ntp is not yet installed. Now I want to install ntp to synchronize the clock, but because certain services are already configured and running I want to avoid resting the abruptly. So now I do: apt-get install ntp/aptitude install ntp/(insert you favorite front end). During the installation ntp is started and resets the clock with settimeofday and I go back in time without the possibility to tell it to use adjtime instead. :-/ So what I'm asking for is the opportunity to configure ntp before it is initially started right after installation. I hope I'm making myself clear. Cheers, David -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
