When checking the splitted files with "mp3val" for errors, I always get this 
error:
WARNING: [...] Wrong number of MPEG frames specified in Xing header (11662 
instead of 11661)

Looks like mp3val always miscalculates the number of MPEG frames by 1.

P.S. ID3v2 support would also be nice. :-)
