While translating your Debconf template to German I noticed the
following minor typo:
-"size is about 300-400Kb)."
+"size is about 300-400kB)."
According to wikipedia:
It can be abbreviated a number of ways: K, KB, Kbyte and kB.
yes. I think that the big B is better
but the official (SI) version is "kB" (because unit prefixes are lower
case letters). I'd also recommend you to include a space before the
unit (but please ask an English native speaker) and to switch to kiB.
nooo.
unit prefixes are: low case for prefixes less than 1,
and upper case for prefixes > 1000.
k was in the middle: old system had lower case, but
SI allow (or recommends, I don't remember) to use also
the big case), so "k" is the only symbol with two allowed
cases.
And you will see other pattern on new units (similar
names, order,...) but it outside normal "debian" usage.
ciao
cate
PS: daX and hX are always minor case (not a lot used
in scientific word, so no further exception), anyway
there are also outside debian use.
