Hi Michael, The trace log is produced by a simple command: strace eclipse Considering my PATH setting, which actually is strace /usr/bin/eclipse. I don't know why it will call for /usr/lib/eclipse/usr/lib/eclipse/startup.jar.
Anyway, the bug has been fixed now :-) In fact, after the latest upgrade of libgtk2.0, applying the patch 080_from_bugzilla_workaround_eclipse_crash, eclipse works properly.
