I cannot install the sid version in stable because of unmet dependencies.

The newest version from the site does not build because of a fault in the
Makefile:

make[1]: Map '/mnt/sda4/download/Epiphany/transmission-0.92/po' wordt
binnengegaan
file=`echo de | sed 's,.*/,,'`.gmo \
          && rm -f $file &&  -o $file de.po
/bin/sh: line 1: -o: command not found
make[1]: *** [de.gmo] Fout 127
make[1]: Map '/mnt/sda4/download/Epiphany/transmission-0.92/po' wordt
verlaten
make: *** [all-recursive] Fout 1
tribbin:/home/robin/download/Epiphany/transmission-0.92#

But I'm quite sure that the IO-eating problem is this there.

Can anybody running the sid version try the following:

1. Run transmission-gtk

2. Have many big torrents that are half downloaded

3. pkill transmission-gtk

4. Run transmission-gtk again and see how the IO is being eaten
because the existing files that are being checked.

Anyway. I would consider this problem in 'stable' quite serious.
Especially on a fresh boot, things are really slow because
everything that you load then has to be loaded from the harddisk.

I hope I informed you well,
