Ok, I understand your point. As a humble up-streamer, I'm not shying
away from bugs being raised publicly and I do appreciate when users
make the effort to report a problem. The reason for my asking the
report to be made directly to me is that this will mean less work for
the package maintainer.

By the way, as a user I would like to know if it is accepted practice
for a bug report sent through the BTS to be answered directly by the
package maintainer and not registered in the package bug pages.
