Heh. Didn't mean to imply that you were. In fact, it's wonderful that
you're following the Debian bugs in this package.

Don't worry too much about that. It's really easy for the maintainer
to close the bugs when a new upload of a package is made, so the
amount of time spent per bug (beyond figuring out what it is and
fixing it) should be fairly minimal. [Normally the package maintainer
should be forwarding messages to you as upstream after figuring out
whether it's an upstream problem or a Debian one.]

Generally maintainers reply to both the submitter and the bug number.
At least, that's what they should be doing.
