Anyhow there is some initialization being done on a vc switch that recently stopped being done on a mode switch. Also, switching to a console produces a black screen too. i will try the nv driver, but it will be in a day or two when i feel more lucid, i have a qemu problem i'm trying to fix right now. I know it's a buffer overrun as the stack is corrupted but that leaves me wondering where...
