Hi Andreas, I can't see how dash can cause this failure.  The error from
gtk+ is because the real uid does not match the effective uid, but I
have no idea how dash should have changed either of them.  Please check
again whether it's really the change of /bin/sh, and also post the
output of `ls -l /bin/dash`.
