Sorry, I sent an incomplete mail by mistake. As I said, I can
reconstruct the behavior anytime, but I forgot to give some additional
information: The error only occurs when using GDM for login. If I call
startxfce4 from a VT, everything works. So maybe GDM is to blame.

Here's the output from ls -l:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure dash
Adding `diversion of /bin/sh to /bin/sh.distrib by dash‘
Adding `diversion of /usr/share/man/man1/sh.1.gz to
/usr/share/man/man1/sh.distrib.1.gz by dash‘
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-12-15 00:43 /bin/sh -> dash
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure dash
Removing `diversion of /bin/sh to /bin/sh.distrib by dash‘
Removing `diversion of /usr/share/man/man1/sh.1.gz to
/usr/share/man/man1/sh.distrib.1.gz by dash‘
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-12-15 00:43 /bin/sh -> bash

Regards,
Andreas
