Please check if the parameter is included in /etc/modprobe.d/local (I expect not). If not, try passing i8042.noloop=1 instead (as you yourself indicated in the other BR :-). That should result in the parameter being added in /etc/modprobe.d/local. I have just tested this, and this works for me: # cat /etc/modprobe.d/local # [some comments] options i8042 noloop=1 However, I'm not sure if that is sufficient in this case as i8042 support is probably compiled into the kernel. If that does not work, please let us know and we'll see if we can improve the handling of parameters for modules that are compiled in. (You can of course also test whether having the option in modprobe.d on your installed system: create the file and temporarily remove the option from the grub boot line.) > I don't know if it's related, but noloop isn't listed by : Should not be related.
