i'm finding the nbdroot hooks to initramfs-tools very useful-
particularly in combination with copy-on-write.
one feature i would like to see is the ability to specify the cow file.
right now, it seems to default to ${base_file}-${ipaddress}-${pid}.diff,
so with /opt/ltsp/images/i386.img, it would create a file like
/opt/ltsp/images/i386.img-127.0.0.1-4675.diff.
it would be nice if there were an option to use mktemp and/or specify an
alternate location for the .diff file, so you could store the diff files
in a separate location from the base file images.
