Package: debian-el Version: 24.10-1 Severity: normal I just ran debian-bug for the first time on this computer. I had never run reportbug on it either and so I had no ~/.reportbugrc. debian-bug asked me for severity and package name and summary and then ... LOL. It said:
You appear to be using the "vi" editor, which is not suited for new users. You probably want to change this setting by using "update-alternatives --config editor" as root. Do you want to continue? [y|N|q|?]? After that, as a workaround, I had to run reportbug on a console once until the setup questions were asked and then I could run debian-bug within the emacs just fine. I can reproduce this bug by removing my ~/.reportbugrc. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages debian-el depends on: ii binutils 2.15-5 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii emacs21 [emacsen] 21.4a-1 The GNU Emacs editor ii reportbug 3.12 reports bugs in the Debian distrib -- no debconf information -- andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
