I meant to mention in my report that I'm the maintainer of the man-page stylesheet in the DocBook XSL Stylesheets distribution, and the reason I came across the problems in the aptitude manpage.xml source is that I was in the process of adding the aptitude man-page sources to the set of sources I use for regression testing when I make updates to the manpages stylesheet.
