I tried the patch, and it doesn't give me an estimate for the time remaining on charging or discharging my battery. It appears that this is because it reads the wrong files (like /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_now, which doesn't exist on my system), producing output like:
Battery 1 (Battery): Discharging, (null)
