Hi, It's been a while, so I can't remember clearly, but IIRC at the time I reopened it it was not marked as such on the upstream website or release announcement[1]. I had meant to send an explanatory note, but I see now it never hit the BTS... oh well. Feel free to reclose it. FWIW, I've been using 0.8.x for a while, and while I'm happy to accept the loss of stability I can agree that it's not ready for a stable release yet (and ubuntu was insane for including it).
