Already tried that - sorry to say: same outcome.

I can wait infinitely long (so it seems) after invoking freetalk.
Then I Ctrl-C and all is well.  Is there some way to get debug-output from
freetalk - without wading into Guile-waters, preferably?

Or perhaps one of the libraries (readline?) blocks?

What is it supposed to be doing at the stage before this one:
        Loading dictionary [/usr/share/dict/words]...
