Sorry for a late reply. Firstly I hadnt check this email for a long time as I was busy with my work and secondly my girl friend had borrowed my laptop for the last three months. I do not get the alloc magic is broken error any more with grub2 and lvm.mod. Grub2 never works if I have lvm.mod included. I ran grub-emu with my grub.cfg which I have attached with this email. I get the following error when I use the grub.cfg in grub-emu
"error: invalid arch independent ELF magic" I have attached grub.cfg along with this email. grub.cfg_broken gives the above error while grub.cfg_working is the only working config file to make my laptop boot.
