Yes, I'm sorry, but if you need a non-threaded tcl core, you'll have to use the tcl8.3 packages, which are still provided for just this reason. As Francesco pointed out, some packages require a threaded tcl. This is not a bug, though I realize that the situation is far from perfect. I hope to have a better solution by the time etch is released, but for sarge, I'm afraid you'll just have to stick with 8.3.
