(Sorry for the slow reply). I'm not sure how to fix this. I don't actually deal with any encodings at all at the moment, I just assume that the input will be processed correctly and sidestep the problem.
If you have any idea how I *should* be handling things then I'd be greatful to hear them. I did fix the typo you spotted in the most recent upload so thanks for that.
