JH> git-gc will drop that to 2 mb or so, for as 24 mb /etc. There are few JH> moden disks where that is a significant size use. The readme file JH> mentions how to make it automatically gc each commit.
You might want to mention the readme file on the man page. Also the savings you mention I suspect probably kick in in 30 days.
