actually I looked at both modes, and imho python-mode is much superior and actually more developed than the one shipped with emacs, thus I was reluctant to do anything to pylint package about that... I guess I would even prefer to at least suggest python-mode.
BTW python-mode + python-ropemacs + flymake + pylint make emacs really great to work with python code (proper completions, code navigation, error detection and highlighting) On Fri, 30 Jan 2009, Brent S.
