gnome-www-browser is an alternative that defaults to epiphany. The one that is a script is sensible-browser. Also, there’s bound to be an issue at some point if the GConf default is set to sensible-browser and if sensible-browser looks for the GConf default… -- .''`. : :' : We are debian.org.
