Did you checked (by hand) if the Release.gpg is a valid signature for
the Release file? 

What is the output of:
apt-get -o Debug::Acquire::gpgv=true update
apt-get -o Debug::Acquire::gpgv=true install $pkg

Does that reveal anything usefull?
