Hi Carl, developers-reference is currently not very well maintained (and I'm one of the maintainers ;). That is: patches get applied, but bugs that require spending a lot of time writing stuff are not usually fixed. It would be great if you wanted to get involved into developers-reference maintainance. And yes, the easiest way to do that is to start providing patches for open bugs.
