No problem with png(eog), pdf(evince), avi(totem), gnumeric, abiword, or

I have these messages when I click on an openoffice document in the
recently used files list, but gnome-shell most of the times doesn't die:

Something that I just noted : openoffice documents are never moved to
the top of the recently used files list.
When I drag the openoffice document to a workspace, only one line before
my prompt reappears :
Shell killed with signal 11
Then multiple lines after the prompt :

The crash might be related to my locale configuration, but I have been
unable to start gnome-shell with another locale to check.
