Hi Giuseppe, today I collected more information avout this bug. I installed smbind on a new machine, where postgresql and apache2 were already installed. The installation procedure prompted me for selecting a database type. I selected pgsql and the installation went to the end without asking anything more.
My postgresql clusters: giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ sudo pg_lsclusters Version Cluster Port Status Owner Data directory Log file 8.1 main 5434 down postgres /var/lib/postgresql/8.1/main /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-8.1-main.log 8.4 bussolino 5432 online postgres /home/pg_cluster-bussolino /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-8.4-bussolino.log 8.4 main 5437 online postgres /var/lib/postgresql/8.4/main /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-8.4-main.log I would like to install smbind on 8.4/main cluster, but the installation procedure did not asked what to do, so it proceed installing on 8.4/bussolino since it uses standard postgresql tcp/ip port. Anyway, after the installation completed, when browsing configtest URL I get this page: smbind configtest This script will try to check some aspects of your smbind configuration and point you to errors where ever it can find them. You need to edit config.php and read the INSTALL file first before you run this script.
